The contract was extended, which proves that the M9 met all expectations and even exceeded them. The Beretta is durable, accurate, safe to use, and highly reliable. It operates in temperatures from -40 to +60°C, with the first malfunction occurring only after firing 35,000 rounds!!! Tested over two decades of use in the US Army. It works even after being buried in sand or snow, and after repeated drops onto hard surfaces such as asphalt or concrete.
